Who’s behind the LRMM Recruitment Committee?
The Committee
At LRMM, we know that young people are the future of the firm, and this is why we take the recruitment process very seriously.
Our Recruitment Committee is a permanent committee that is active all year round. It consists of attorneys, employees and partners, who work in the firm’s main fields of practice. The role of the members of the committee is twofold: firstly, to recruit high quality articling students that will perpetuate the firm’s tradition of excellence and values and contribute to the growth of the firm’s success, and secondly, to support and train our articling students as they become attorneys.
Here are a few words from the current members of the Recruitment Committee.
Seti Hamalian – Partner and Chairman of the Recruitment Committee

Julien Grenier – Partner : “Leave your script at home. Be yourself and everything will work out!”
Civil and commercial litigation attorney at LRMM.
I am passionate about public speaking in its many forms, from oral argument, to theatre, improvisation, and tales. I succeed in combining work and passion as I go to the court about two times a week. It fascinates me so much that I still don’t think it’s enough. I would go everyday if it were up to me!
As a kid, I wanted to be either an inventor or a litigator. I would be lying if I said I had abandoned that first option. In fact, I completed a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering at École Polytechnique de Montréal before studying law at McGill University.
I was an articling student at LRMM. I chose this firm for its work environment and relaxed atmosphere among colleagues. It was by far the only firm where I felt like I would be part of a team, which was what I was looking for. To this day, I do not regret my decision!
One of my favorite memories at LRMM is when I was asked to defend a motion in court on my first day of articling. It was my first time appearing before a judge and it turned out to be an important stepping-stone in my career.
Since my beginning at LRMM, every day has brought an opportunity to grow both on a personal and professional level. The firm regularly provides new challenges and that is what makes our job so exciting.
A word of advice: don’t put on an act! Leave your script at home. Be yourself and everything will work out! Honesty, integrity and self-confidence are the only tools you need during the recruitment process.

SIMON RAINVILLE – Partner : “I had the opportunity to plead a case by myself as an articling student, and I pleaded a large part of arbitration proceedings in Toronto and Paris, despite my young age.”
Civil and commercial litigation attorney at LRMM.
I like traveling, road cycling, snowboarding and fishing. I’m a foodie and an enthusiast of coffee, books and video games.
I enjoy the legal profession for the challenges that come with each new case. I have always loved the art of public speaking, and I consider it stimulating to support our clients and help them find solutions to their problems.
I chose to do my articling at LRMM because of the excellent impression I was left with following my university’s career day. The human factor was a significant dimension for me. It therefore made sense for me to do my articling in an environment where I could picture myself long-term, working and growing with colleagues who shared the same mindset as me.
To best describe my experience at LRMM, I would say: “It’s been one hell of a ride!” I had the opportunity to plead a case by myself as an articling student, and I pleaded a large part of arbitration proceedings in Toronto and Paris, despite my young age. I’ve had the privilege of representing clients before most courts.
The LRMM experience is inspiring and enriching both professionally and socially. I have a long list of great memories that I would love to share over coffee!
The recruitment process is challenging, intimidating and imperfect. For this reason, I always recommend that students make the most out of the process and give it a try in the second year of their bachelor’s degree, without over-exhausting themselves. The worst that can happen is that you’ll find an articling position. For those who enter the recruitment process in their third year, it’s definitely not too late – take it from someone who was hired in his third year! The key is to be honest with yourself and remember that everybody winds up finding an articling position.

CYNTIA BEDROSSIAN – ATTORNEY: “LRMM ALLOWS ME TO CONSTANTLY CHALLENGE MYSELF AND BY EXTENSION BROADEN MY LEGAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPAND MY PROFESSIONAL NETWORK IN A COACHED AND MENTORED ATMOSPHERE.”
Commercial Law attorney at LRMM.
My career at LRMM began following my participation in the Course aux stages. I spent two summers as a student, acquiring experience by working closely with lawyers from various departments. During my articling I was able to further expand my knowledge base by handling different types of mandates mostly involving commercial transactions. Following my swearing in, I have been pursuing my career as a lawyer in the Commercial Group.
My day-to-day is full of challenges! LRMM allows me to constantly challenge myself and by extension broaden my legal knowledge and expand my professional network in a coached and mentored atmosphere.
The Course aux stages may be a demanding process, but it allows you to learn more about yourself and should help you choose the firm that is the right fit for you. Especially following my second interview at LRMM, I felt that the firm was committed to the success of its students while nurturing a genuine interest in my development. I quickly understood that true fulfillment would be possible within the LRMM family, and a few years later, I am even more certain of it.
I invite you to never lose sight of the fact that the journey is far more important than the destination. Take advantage of the Course aux stages to see yourself in a new and positive light. Be confident, stay true to who you are and never doubt your abilities. Your career has already begun. Enjoy every moment of this fantastic adventure!

FRÉDÉRIQUE TURCOT – ATTORNEY: “I WAS LOOKING FOR A STIMULATING JOB THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO FULFILL MY POTENTIAL, BUT ALSO A PLACE WHERE I WOULD ENJOY GOING TO WORK DAY AFTER DAY, YEAR AFTER YEAR.”
Insurance Law attorney at LRMM.
I love skiing, novels and knitting. I am also passionate about law and the insurance field in which I work. Promoting women’s role and advancement in business, as well as in the legal profession is a priority for me.
What I like about my practice is the variety of cases I handle. At LRMM, I learn more every day, whether it is in law or other fields. I had a soft spot for LRMM from my first contact with the firm during a career day. I saw the bond between the members of the team and I immediately wanted to be part of this family. My first interview confirmed my impression. I was able to be myself throughout the interview, and my stress gave way to a great conversation. I felt that the interviewers were genuinely interested in getting to know me. And that was important to me, because for me, the Course aux stages was not just about finding an articling position. I was looking for a challenging job that would allow me to develop a fulfilling professional life, but also a place where I would enjoy going to work day after day, year after year.
Since then, I have made several friends at LRMM. I have mentors who support me every day along the way. My colleagues have confidence in me, and that makes me a better lawyer. I really enjoy the autonomy I have as a young lawyer, while still feeling adequately supervised. And “having fun at work” is part of my everyday life! The advice I can give you is to stay true to yourself, and you will find the right place for you. The Course aux stages may seem intimidating, but it is an experience that will help you get to know yourself and the firms better.
